Payment of lessons & Fees

Studio Policies

Payment for music lessons is due at the beginning of each term - there are 6 terms per school year.
Lessons can be paid for by bank transfer or paypal. Invoices are sent out before the start of the term and are due for payment before the first lesson.

I occasionally have slots available for private pupils taking lessons as a flexible 'pay as you go'. These are for adults and younger adults, who are not able to attend regularly.

20min lesson £12.00
suitable for younger children or beginners who are not sure and want to give it a try

30min lesson £18.00

45min lesson £27.00

60min lesson £36.00

30min shared lessons are suitable for beginner's on violin. As pupils develop, their progress and learning styles vary as time goes on, individual lessons may then be more suitable.

Cancellations

The Student/Parent will be charged for scheduled lessons that the student does not attend unless there are exceptional circumstances. I will endeavour to makeup one lesson in each double term that the student was not able to attend because of sickness.

For School trips, appointments or class outings, I ask for one weeks notice. I will not charge for the lesson, as I can have time too rearrange my timetable and use the extra time elsewhere. However, if you do not let me know the lesson will be charged for.

If the teacher needs to cancel or cut short a lesson, the missed lesson will be rescheduled to either another day in the week of the term or the following term, outside of the term during school holidays or the weekend. If it is not possible to rearrange the lesson, the missed lesson will be credited to the next term's lessons or refunded.

Termination of lessons

Ideally, this decision is made thoughtfully with plenty of discussion between the teacher, parent, and student so that lessons can cease with a positive sense of closure. Lucy asks for one month’s notice in writing, if the student wishes to terminate their lessons.

Examinations and Performances

Students will not be entered for any examination, or public performance without the prior permission of the teacher and parent/carer.

Practise and the role of the Parent/Carer

I will give all adults/parents advice for practising at home. For the young beginner, it is the parent’s responsibility to establish a practise routine at home. Regular practice, attending lessons and parental involvement is key to the child’s progress.

Extra lessons

Extra lessons outside of school terms can be arranged in school holidays upon request.
